Level I: Foundations

 

Welcome to Civil Air Patrol!  You have just joined one of the most prestigious volunteer organizations in the country, offering nearly limitless possibilities and opportunities.

The Level I Foundations program is a CAP orientation program and the first of CAP's Five professional development program levels. During this training you will be exposed to the history of our organization and familiarize yourself with the general policies and procedures. To complete this level, complete the requirements (1-5) outlined below (in accordance with CAPR 50-17). Should you have any questions about what you are leaning in level one please do not hesitate to talk to your mentor, unit Professional Development Officer, or unit Commander. 

Note: Cadet Protection Program Training (CPPT) in step 3 is for CAP members of ages 17 & older only.

The Next Step

Once you have completed the 5 sub courses at home, you will have a "summary conversation" with you mentor or unit commander. During the summary conversation, they will review your "Foundations Course" quizzes, as well as, answer any questions you have. They will also prepare you for the next level of achievement, Level II, and explain how you can be more active in the unit. Finally, they will have you sign a Form 11 (PD Directors Report) crediting you with completion of Level I.
