Highlighted Aerospace Pioneer

Remembering an Aviation Legend:

Paul E. Garber
31 Aug 1899 - 23 Sep 1992

Mr. Garber was the driving force that led to the founding of the National Air and Space Museum in Washington and served as first head of the National Air Museum of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.

In 2014, we celebrated 104 years of U.S. military aviation by commemorating the diverse array of people who helped shape today's USAF. Click on the photo on the right to view Veterans in Blue.
