Airworthiness Directives

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for turbocharged, reciprocating engine powered airplanes and helicopters and turbocharged, reciprocating engines with a certain v-band coupling installed.

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Continental Aerospace Technologies, Inc. (Continental) GTSIO-520, IO-470, IO-520, IO-550, IOF-550, LIO-470, LIO-520, LTSIO-520, O-470, TSIO-470, TSIO-520, TSIO-550, TSIOF-550, and TSIOL-550 model reciprocating engines with a certain Superior Air Parts, Inc. (SAP) cylinder assembly or intake valve installed.

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Continental Aerospace Technologies, Inc. C-125, C145, IO-360, IO-470, IO-550, O-300, O-470, TSIO-360, TSIO-520 series model reciprocating engines and certain Continental Motors IO-520 series model reciprocating engines with a certain oil filter adapter installed.

The FAA is issuing this AD to detect and address cracking of the wing strut attach point. The unsafe condition, if not addressed, could result in failure of the wing in operation, which could result in loss of control of the airplane.

This AD was prompted by reports of an unapproved idler gear bearing being installed on propeller governors either at manufacture or during overhaul.

This AD applies to GA8 Airvan (Pty) Ltd Model GA8 and is effective on 29 Sep 2020.

This AD applies to all Blanik Model L23 Super-Blanik gliders and is effective on 28 Aug 2020.

This AD applies to Aerospace Welding Minneapolis Inc; (AWI) Mufflers and is effective on 21 Feb 2018.

This AD applies to all Lycoming TIO-540-AJ1A reciprocating engines and it is effective June 28, 2017.

This AD describes the unsafe condition as inadequate guidance for spin training operations.
