"My first actual leadership experience, other than being support staff, was when I was a flight commander at our Winter Encampment. I had just become an officer, and while I had all but memorized the textbooks, I had never been directly in charge of people. I learned that leadership is best learned through experience, not through a book." -- 2012 IACE Cadet Applicant
Encampments are one of the most popular and worthwhile activities available to cadets. They challenge cadets to develop self-discipline and teamwork while broadening their understanding of aerospace. Most encampments are conducted on a military installation.
This web page is designed to connect cadets with encampment opportunities in their home wing and across the nation. This site is updated as the wings and regions supply details about their encampments. All details are subject to change.
Directors of Cadet Programs: Please email your encampment information so we may add it to the calendar:

For regulatory guidance concerning encampments, see CAPR 52-16, Cadet Program Management Chapter 5.
To obtain credit for AFJROTC Summer Leadership School: Email the cadet's name, CAPID, and scanned copy of graduation certificate to registrar Sharon Jackson.
Encampments are listed in the CAP Interactive Calendar as wings make us aware of their events.
For application procedures, costs, and other information, visit the encampment's website or email the contact person. Staff members may be asked to report earlier than the dates shown here.
